It’s 2012! Happy New Year everyone! Fashion, clothes, and design are going places this year that it hasn’t gone in a long time and this year it is going to be better than ever! I feel the vibe of the 1950s and 60s vintage silhouettes mixed with new colors and textures. Talking about this reminds me how good it feels to create! I came across this picture of Felicity Jones when I was reading the New York Times and I loved the armhole shape. Just a small detail but I have never tried it so the next shift dress I make will need to have a box armhole. What do you think about the armhole? Do you think it would look good with a full skirt or should I stick to a pencil skirt?

This Valentino rose sleeve cocktail dress is so beautiful I need to have it! It would make a great New Years Eve party dress. I really hope I have the time to make it. I’m guess there is horsehair braid in the petals to make them stick out like that. What do you think? I would love to hear your opinion because I don’t have a lot of experience with sewing in horsehair or whatever that is.

My other inspiration lately is the red dress that Zooey Deschanel wears in the theme song to her show New Girl. My husband wants me to make that dress for Christmas.

I want to make these bleached tights.
Winter is coming and I found this Pixie hat that I would love to make for the cold weather. I have experience with knitting and even when I knit a really cute looking hat it is still not very warm. So I’ve decided that next time I knit one I will sew a layer of fleece into the hat around the ears and possibly the whole hat.
These buildings are absolutely beautiful. Hey readers, do you know where these are? Have you or someone you know ever seen these buildings? They look like magic to me
